National Republican Trust Political Action Committee Vows To Oppose Three RINOs

Specifically, Arlen Specter (R-PA), Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Susan Collins (R-ME). Those three have been a traitor to Conservative principles for far too long. It is time to get rid of them.

So, Scott Wheeler of Republican Trust PAC has gone on record and put those three on notice that the GOP Trust PAC will provide support to whomever challenges these three in the Primary Elections when they come up for re-election in their home states.

From the GOP Trust Press Release:

Today, Scott Wheeler, Executive Director, National Republican Trust PAC, announced that his organization would support challengers in primaries of any Republicans who vote for the stimulus bill. The NRT PAC spent the third largest amount of any independent organization in the 2008 campaign; $6 million in advertising through the November election, and $750,000 in the runoff for the U.S. Senate seat in Georgia.

“The American people don’t want this trillion dollar political payoff that will just line the pockets of non-governmental organizations who supported Obama in the election,” Wheeler said. “Republican Senators are on notice. If they support the stimulus package we will make sure every voter in their state knows how they tried to further bankrupt voters in an already bad economy.”

Specter, Snowe and Collins have rightly earned the ire of the GOP base. With the help of those three, the Dems have effectively mortgaged our childrens’ future on a spending package that is more about repaying political allies than it is for getting the economy going.

I wonder what those three were promised in return for their back-stabbing?

RINO Season Is Now Open

You gotta love The Nuge! He is now making his way into the political arena with periodic columns about this, that and the other thing and he is doing it with his own personal style. Where Ann Coulter uses biting satire, Ted Nugent just throws the subject in your face and says, “Deal with it.”.

His latest column is about RINOs and how we can hunt them down and purge them from the GOP. From Human Events Online:

RINOs are Fedzilla punks who feign support for conservative principles only when it serves their political interest. RINOs are also known for their moderate positions such as supporting tax increases, federal “bailouts”, “comprehensive immigration reform”, advocating more counterproductive gun control that guarantee more innocent victims, opposing the death penalty, and growing and sustaining Fedzilla and all its toxic mongrels by going along with the liberals.

As the Republican Party begins to retool, rebuild and return to the “less government is best government” conservatism that makes America work, the first thing the GOP needs to do is to lock the RINOs out of the discussion.

And this:

John McCain has been a RINO on campaign finance, immigration, global warming and other issues and look what happened to him. He had reached across the aisle so many times to cut deals with the liberals that he had to pick Governor Palin, a true conservative, to try and lure disenfranchised and disgusted conservatives back into the fold. Didn’t work. Senator McCain was the wrong candidate at the right time. RINOs lose elections; conservatives win them.

Should President-elect Obama implement his wrong-headed economic policies, our economy will continue to slide into the abyss and America’s debt will continue to soar to unsustainable levels. Conservatives must hold the line at all costs and call out all RINOs who support President-elect Obama’s economic kamikaze plan.

Make no mistake, conservative values and ideologies are embraced by Americans. The polls all indicate Americans are fed up with the Pelosi-led, do nothing congress, and do not support more government programs and control. Sounds to me like we have a conservative revolution brewing.

I agree.

This whole piece is a gem.

An Open Memo To The Conservative Elite

Along the same lines of my last post which referenced Bob Parks, Matt Lewis over at Town Hall has a few things to say about the RINOs among us. He wrote a memo to them congratulating them on their contributions to the 2008 Presidential race. His primary recipients are Kathleen Parker, Peggy Noonan, David Brooks, David Frum and Christopher Buckley. (I’d add George Will to that list too.)

Here are a few of the highlights he hits on:

You gave the media an excuse to assert that “conservatives” hated Sarah Palin so much that they were jumping off the McCain campaign like rats off a sinking ship. Despite the fact that Palin was reinvigorating the conservative movement and drew huge crowds, you felt the irrational need to ignore the evidence and insist that Sarah was a walking blonde joke.

Great job!

Of course, you probably lost you any credibility you had with real conservatives…you know, the rank-and-file voters. But, hey, I’m sure it was more than worth it considering that you became overnight sensations on the Georgetown cocktail circuit (where people wouldn’t have given you the time of day had you actually stuck by your beliefs).

And Matt also notes:

You’d never met Gov. Palin, you had no personal connection to her, so why not throw her under the bus? A little intellectual dishonesty never hurt anyone, and being good pseudo-conservative intellectual, you understood the benefit of behaving as a self-interested individual. Ayn Rand would be so proud of you.

Unfortunately, you goofed up on just one little issue. You forgot about the long-term impacts of your decisions; you turned a blind eye to the out-and-out ideology of Barack Obama.

… High taxes, the fairness doctrine, universal healthcare, more regulation in all aspects of your life….that’s all going to be at least partially your fault. And frankly, I lied about Ayn Rand being proud of you — she’d probably smack you in the face for allowing such a dramatic erosion of your personal freedoms.

I can only think of the Disney movie The Incredible Mr. Limpet and the one scene where a chorus of women sing in the background: “Be careful what you wish for!” right before Don Knotts gets turned into a fish.

Well, the circular firing squad will be over soon enough. We conservatives now have a better idea of who our true allies are and who the members of the fifth column among us are.

We’ll work it from here.
